We're Going to Titan!

Since we are sending Infinity to Saturn's largest moon Titan, we thought you might want to know more about Titan itself. Since cameras and telescopes can't penetrate Titan's hazy orange atmosphere, Titan is shrouded in mystery. When Infinity lands on Titan, it will unlock these mysteries and clear up the confusion. Here's what we know:

  • Radius - 1600 miles
  • Temperature -  -178 degrees CPeriod of Revolution (around Saturn)- 16 days (745000 miles)
  • Discovered by Christiaan Huygens who was a Dutch astronomer in 1655.
  • Density- Metric: 1.882 g/cm3
  • Mass- 1.3455 x 1023 kg
  • Atmospheric Constituents- N2, CH4
  • The atomsphere of Titan is 87-99% nitrogen, compared to 78% nitrogen on Earth.
  • Scientists think Titan has a mostly solid surface with pockets of liquid methane and ethane.
